2026 REAP Eligibility Sheet Available: Check For Your District Now

The newest eligibility listing for the Rural Education Achievement Program (REAP) is available for your review! REAP is a special assistance program authorized by the United States Congress through the US Department of Education to public school districts who qualify under two different funding formulae (RLIS and SRSA). These are additional funds with significant flexibility for your district to fill critical gaps in your capacity, and all you need to do is claim them annually.

The Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools (AIRSS) works each year to ensure that you are aware of and can access this funding. We also work to ensure the accuracy of the eligibility list. This year, with substantial changes having been made to federal education systems, it is more important than ever that you review your district’s details on this list. In our initial review of the data, the AIRSS team has already found substantial issues with this eligibility list.

The US Department of Education is requesting rural districts and rural education support organizations to review the data and immediately inform them of any errors. As you review this list, the two eligibility criteria, and the amounts allotted to eligible districts: please note any errors and inform us as soon as possible.

AIRSS has continued to fight for the necessity of REAP funding at the federal level, and we remain committed to your students, staff, and schools by fighting further for the accuracy of this eligibility list.

Please email us with any questions you have and especially any errors your find at: info@airssedu.org

Yours in Advocacy,
The AIRSS Team
