AIRSS Executive Director, Dave Ardrey, was joined by Assistant Director Hailey Winkleman and Program Director John Glasgow in Springfield this September to support rural superintendents and share the exciting news about the passage of SB1787, creating a state-level Rural Education Advisory Council. Equipped with commemorative pins and posters, all three had the opportunity to talk with superintendents from across the state about the work of AIRSS and the bright future for rural education through the new advisory council. The three-day conference was capped by an AIRSS Executive Board meeting that drew an engaged audience of rural advocates interested in hearing the Board discuss the Association’s recent progress, its plans for the future, and name its new Board members.
